It is also the package where local knowledge earns its keep, because the difference between a perfect beach ceremony and a frustrating one is decided weeks earlier, in choices about sand, tide, and timing.
Which coast fits your wedding
Bali’s beaches are not interchangeable, and the honest first question is what kind of evening you want.
Jimbaran is the safe, beautiful choice: a calm west-facing bay, water you can actually swim in, and seafood grills cooking right on the sand. Most of the family beach weddings we plan happen here or in Nusa Dua, where the resorts keep the sand manicured and the water stays flat enough for grandparents and kids.
Seminyak and Canggu are for couples who want the ceremony to melt into a party. Sunset here comes with beach clubs, music, and energy nearby. You trade quiet for atmosphere, and for some weddings that is exactly the right trade.
Sanur, where our team is based, faces east. We will tell you straight: there is no sunset over the water here. What you get instead is the calmest sand on the island, a lagoon protected by the reef, and soft light in the late afternoon. For a relaxed ceremony with older guests, it is quietly perfect.
Timing is everything on the sand
Bali sits close to the equator, so sunset lands between 6pm and 6.30pm every month of the year. We usually start a sunset ceremony at 4.30pm or 5pm: vows in soft light, then the whole of golden hour free for portraits while your guests start on cocktails.
We also check the tide table before fixing the hour. At high tide, some beaches shrink to a strip barely wide enough for an aisle; at low tide, Jimbaran gains thirty metres of firm, walkable sand. It is a small detail that decides whether eighty chairs fit.
Season matters less than couples fear. The dry months from April to October are the reliable window, and within them May, June and September combine good weather with quieter beaches and better venue rates. Wet-season weddings work too; showers tend to pass within the hour, which is why a covered backup is part of every beach package we run rather than an optional extra.
What a beach wedding costs
Most beach weddings we plan land between 3,000 and 15,000 USD. A ceremony for the two of you with a photographer sits near the bottom of that range. Eighty guests, a plated dinner and a band push toward the top, because the setup itself stays roughly fixed while catering scales with every seat. Legal papers, or just the ceremony?
Most of our couples keep the beach ceremony symbolic and sign the legal papers at home, before or after the trip. Your guests will never know the difference, and you skip a week of Indonesian bureaucracy. If you do want the marriage registered here, our legal wedding and registration package handles the documents, the officiants, and the timing so the beach day stays untouched.

Sea breeze eats unamplified voices, so we mic the officiant and position speakers with the wind, not against it. Amplified music on most beachfronts stops between 10pm and midnight, a rule set by the venue and the local banjar, so when couples want a late party we plan dinner on the sand and the dancing at a villa or beach club after. And we brief your hair and makeup artist that it is a beach day, because a style that survives a chapel does not always survive an onshore breeze at 5pm.

Is a beach wedding in Bali legally binding?+
Only if you add legal registration, which most couples skip. The usual route is a symbolic ceremony on the sand and the paperwork done at home before or after the trip. If you want the marriage registered in Indonesia, we arrange that as a separate service.
What time should a beach ceremony start?+
