BASK Gili Meno
Beachfront resort and beach club, Gili Meno
Photos: BASK Gili Meno
BASK is the reason a Gili Meno wedding no longer means compromising on where everyone sleeps. Meno is the smallest and quietest of the three islands, close to empty outside the few beachfront strips, and until recently the accommodation matched that. BASK put a properly designed resort on the sand: teak, concrete and glass, a 35-metre infinity pool, studios with plunge pools and beachfront suites of one, two and three bedrooms.
Ceremonies happen on the beach in front of the resort, which on Meno means reef straight off the shore and almost nobody else in frame. The beach club handles the rest of the day, with cabanas, day beds and private lounges it already runs as a normal business, plus an indoor restaurant for a seated dinner if the wind picks up. Sunset here draws people across from Trawangan for the evening, which tells you what the light does.
This is a venue for small weddings rather than large ones, and that is the point of the island. BASK does not publish wedding packages, so the ceremony, catering and rooms are quoted per booking, and we reconfirm current figures with the resort for your date.

Why we love it
The quietest island, done properly
Gili Meno is close to empty compared with Trawangan, which is exactly why couples choose it and also why most properties here are basic. BASK is the exception: concrete, teak and glass, a 35-metre pool, a kitchen that takes itself seriously. It gives you Meno's silence without asking anyone to rough it.
Beachfront suites for the people who matter
Room categories run from studios with plunge pools up to one, two and three-bedroom beachfront suites. Families and the wedding party take the big suites, which on an island reached by boat saves a great deal of shuffling.
A beach club that already knows how to host
The beach club runs cabanas, day beds and private lounges on the sand as its normal business, so staging drinks and dinner for a wedding group is not a novelty here. Sunset sessions on that stretch of beach are the reason people cross from Trawangan for the evening.

Common questions
Can you hold a wedding at BASK Gili Meno?+
Yes, on the beach in front of the resort, with the beach club and restaurant handling the reception. BASK does not publish wedding packages, so we scope the ceremony setup, catering and room block with the team and get a written quote for your date.
How many guests does it suit?+
This is a venue for small weddings, which is what most couples come to Gili Meno for. The beach club's private areas seat between four and nine guests each and larger takeovers are arranged case by case. For a guest list past about 80 we would look at Gili Trawangan instead.
Why Gili Meno rather than Trawangan?+
Silence. Meno is the smallest and quietest of the three islands, with no bar strip and very little traffic of any kind. It suits an elopement or a wedding of ten to thirty people. The trade-off is fewer suppliers on the island, so more comes across by boat.
How do guests get to Gili Meno?+
Fast boat from Bali to the Gilis, one and a half to two and a half hours depending on the departure point, then a short hop or a direct service to Meno. The Gilis are off Lombok in West Nusa Tenggara, not in Bali, and there are no cars: it is walking, bicycles or a cidomo cart from the jetty.
