Silo Beach Club is the best-built thing on Nusa Penida’s east coast. It sits in a small white-sand cove at Semaya, near Suana, with an infinity pool cut into the sand, thatched pavilions on the grass behind, a bamboo bar you can swim up to, and a reef a few metres out. The whole west of the island is a queue by mid-morning. Down here you can have the beach.

For a wedding it works as a whole-day venue rather than a ceremony backdrop alone. The sand and the strip of lawn behind it take a barefoot ceremony, the pool deck holds cocktails, and the open-sided restaurant does a seated dinner. The club runs weddings, private parties, and retreats on custom packages, with sound, catering, and styling arranged around what you want rather than off a fixed sheet.

The one thing to plan around is the light. This coast faces east, so the sun rises out of the water and sets behind the hill. We tend to put the ceremony at first light on the sand, when the beach is empty and the colour is at its best, and use the rest of the day for the party. Getting here is a fast boat from Sanur plus a slow drive across the island, so guests stay the night. Nothing is published, so we build the quote with the club and reconfirm current figures for your date.

Why we love it

A cove you can actually have to yourselves

Silo sits in a small white-sand bay at Semaya, a long way from the day-trip circuit on the west of the island. Kelingking is heaving by ten in the morning. This corner is not, and a beach ceremony here does not need crowd management.

It is properly built

The bamboo bar, the thatched pavilions, the infinity pool cut into the sand: this is a designed beach club, not a warung with sunbeds. It photographs like the mainland and it gives you a real bar, a real kitchen, and staff who have run large groups before.

East coast means sunrise

The coast here faces east, so the light show happens at dawn rather than at dinner. That flips the usual Bali timeline: first light on the sand for the ceremony and portraits, then the whole day free. Couples who want a golden-hour ceremony should look at the west coast instead.

Good to know

Common questions

Can you hold a wedding at Silo Beach Club?+

Yes. The club lists weddings alongside birthdays and corporate retreats and puts together custom packages for them, working across the beach, the pool deck, and the restaurant. Rates are not published, so we build the quote with them around your guest count and the format you want.

Where is Silo Beach Club?+

On Semaya Beach at Suana, on the east coast of Nusa Penida, part of Bali's Klungkung regency. Getting there means the 30 to 45 minute fast boat from Sanur and then a drive across the island, which takes longer than the map suggests. We plan the transfer with a real buffer.

Is it a good spot for a sunset ceremony?+

No, and we would rather say so. The beach faces east, so sunset happens behind the hill. Sunrise on this sand is exceptional and almost nobody is there, so we usually build the day around early light and keep the club for lunch, drinks, and dinner.

Where do guests stay?+

Silo has no rooms of its own, but Semaya Beach Resort is directly next door and there are other small properties along this coast. Nobody should do a Penida wedding as a day trip, so we book everyone in on the island for at least one night.
