Mahamaya Gili Meno
Boutique beachfront resort, Gili Meno
Photos: Mahamaya Gili Meno
Mahamaya sits on the coral sand at Turtle Point, on the west coast of Gili Meno, and it is one of the few properties on the island that reads as a proper small resort rather than a set of bungalows. Five room categories, from one-bedroom suites up to two-bedroom and beachfront villas, a pool running down towards the beach, and an open-sided restaurant with the kitchen visible from the tables.
For a wedding the appeal is the geography. West-facing beach means the ceremony hour and the sunset arrive together, with Gili Trawangan across the water and the sky doing most of the work. Drinks happen at the tiki bar on the sand, dinner at the waterfront tables the resort already sets for evening service. The reef off the beach is a turtle feeding ground, which gives guests something real to do on the days either side.
The resort publishes no wedding packages, so this is a venue we scope directly: the setup on the sand, the celebrant, the dinner and the rooms, all quoted per booking. It suits an elopement or a wedding of up to around thirty rather than a large reception. We reconfirm current figures and availability with the resort for your date.

Why we love it
Turtle Point is the calmest water on the island
The resort takes its name and its position from the reef right off the beach, where green turtles feed. For a wedding week where guests need something to do between events, snorkelling from your own sand is worth more than any excursion.
West coast, so the sunset lands in front of you
Mahamaya sits on the west side of Gili Meno looking across at Gili Trawangan. Ceremony at five, drinks at the tiki bar, dinner at the waterfront tables while the sky goes: the geography does the running order for you.
Small enough to take over
Five room categories, from one-bedroom suites up to two-bedroom and beachfront villas, and not many of them. For an elopement or a wedding of twenty this is a property you can effectively have to yourselves, which is harder to achieve than it sounds anywhere else in the Gilis.

Common questions
Can you get married at Mahamaya Gili Meno?+
The resort does not publish a wedding offer, so we arrange the ceremony directly with the team: the setup on the sand, the celebrant, the dinner at the waterfront tables and the rooms. That works well for small weddings and elopements, which is the size Gili Meno suits anyway.
How many guests can it hold?+
This is a small property, so think elopement to around thirty rather than a large reception. Above that we would look at BASK on the same island or move the wedding to Gili Trawangan, where the resorts are bigger. We size it with the venue once we know your list.
What does it cost?+
Nothing is published. The ceremony setup, catering and rooms are quoted per booking, and the total moves with guest numbers and how much of the resort you take. We get a written quote for your date.
Where is Turtle Point?+
On the west coast of Gili Meno, the smallest of the three Gili Islands, facing Gili Trawangan across the water. The Gilis are off the northwest coast of Lombok in West Nusa Tenggara, not in Bali. Guests arrive by fast boat and then walk or take a cidomo cart, since there are no cars on the island.
