Pondok Santi Estate
Beachfront estate resort, Gili Trawangan
Photos: Pondok Santi Estate
Pondok Santi Estate is the venue we suggest first when a couple wants Gili Trawangan without the noise Trawangan is known for. It occupies seven hectares at the southern tip of the island, an old coconut grove with 23 bungalows and villas set well apart along stone paths, two restaurants, and a private white-sand beach looking across the sea to Lombok.
The scale is what makes it work as a wedding venue. Ceremonies happen on the sand, with an arch framing the water and the Lombok hills behind. Dinner moves into the grove, where long timber tables sit under strung festoon lights and the palms do most of the decorating. There is enough ground between the two that guests genuinely change scene, which is rare on islands this small. The estate takes weddings on full or partial hire and coordinates them with its own trusted local partners.
Getting here means a fast boat from Bali of about an hour and a half to two hours from Padang Bai, then a cart from the harbour, so we bring everyone over a day early. Nothing is published on price or on capacity: venue hire, catering and rooms are quoted per event, and we reconfirm current figures with the estate for your date.

Why we love it
The most land of any Gili venue we work with
Seven hectares is enormous by Gili standards, where most properties are a strip of beach and a row of rooms. It buys you real separation: ceremony on the sand, drinks in the grove, dinner somewhere else again, without guests ever stepping outside the estate.
The south end is a different island
Trawangan's north and centre are busy with bars and dive shops. Pondok Santi sits at the southern tip, where the beach empties out and the noise stops. Couples who worried Trawangan would be too loud usually change their minds after seeing this end of it. The island's only surf break is off this beach, which tells you how far it is from the strip.
Sleeps your inner circle on site
With 23 bungalows and villas you can house the wedding party inside the estate and take the whole place if numbers justify it. On an island where everything arrives by boat then by horse cart, having your key people already on the property removes most of the morning logistics.

Good to know
Common questions
Where exactly is Pondok Santi Estate?+
On the southern tip of Gili Trawangan, the largest of the three Gili Islands off the northwest coast of Lombok. The beach looks across the strait to Lombok rather than back towards Bali. It is about an hour and a half to two hours by fast boat from Padang Bai in east Bali, then a cidomo cart or a walk from the harbour. The Gilis are in West Nusa Tenggara, a different province to Bali.
How many guests can get married there?+
The estate takes weddings on full or partial hire and publishes no fixed capacity, so any number we quote before speaking to them would be a guess. With seven hectares, a private beach and the grove, it handles anything from a ten-person elopement to a proper reception. We scope exact numbers with the estate once we know your guest list.
What does a wedding at Pondok Santi cost?+
Nothing is published. Venue hire, catering and rooms are all quoted per event, and the total moves with whether you take part of the estate or all of it. We get a written quote for your date and guest count so you can compare it against the Meno and Air options.
Can guests stay on the property?+
Yes, in 23 bungalows spread across the grounds. That covers a wedding party and close family; larger guest lists spill into other properties on Trawangan, which are a short walk or cart ride away. Booking the estate out entirely is possible and we ask about it early, because the island fills up in July and August.
