Aqua Nusa is a collection of eight private pool villas on the hill above Jungut Batu, the main village on Nusa Lembongan. Every villa is different, all have a private pool and marble floors, and the layouts run from one bedroom up to three, with adjoining villas combining into four, five and six-bedroom blocks. Together they sleep around 20.
They are not an events venue and do not pretend to be. Where they matter is in the shape of a Lembongan wedding. The ceremony happens on the sand or at Bar Riva down in the village, the reception at the beach club or the rooftop bar at Ohana’s, the sister property five minutes downhill, and Aqua Nusa takes the guests who want privacy and a view: usually parents, grandparents, and anyone travelling as a family. Between the two properties a wedding party of roughly 90 stays inside one group.
The setting does most of the work. The hill looks down over a long turquoise arc of reef with jukung boats moored on it and the Bali coastline on the horizon, and villa guests have complimentary access to the beach club on the sand below. Jungut Batu from above is a long turquoise arc with jukung boats moored on the reef and Bali on the horizon. From a pool at that height it does not really need decorating, which is why so much of the getting-ready happens up here.
