Munduk Moding Plantation is the resort that put the Bali highlands on wedding mood boards. It sits on five hectares of working coffee plantation on the Gobleg ridge above Munduk, in Buleleng, and it is built around a pool that runs to a clean edge facing north over the trees to the coast and the Bali Sea. On plenty of days the cloud lies below the resort rather than above it. The owners started here in 2007 with an abandoned plantation, and had the resort designed by the Balinese architects Popo Danes and Era Anastasia.
For weddings the resort keeps things deliberately small. There are two published offerings: a Mountain Magic package built per couple, and a Traditional Balinese Wedding Blessing whose inclusions are listed in full, with a Balinese priest, ceremonial attire and offerings, photography and videography, florals, a spa treatment and a private candlelit dinner. Ceremonies happen in the round bamboo pavilion in the gardens or on the timber deck under the tree ferns, and dinner moves to MiMPi Restaurant or the Bamboo Clubhouse. Accommodation runs from suites to a five-bedroom pool villa, which suits a group taking most of the property.
Neither offering is published with a figure and no guest capacities are published either. We get both quoted in writing, and we reconfirm the current pricing with the resort for your date.

The pool does half the work
The main pool runs to a clean edge facing north over the plantation to the forested hills and the Bali Sea. On plenty of mornings the cloud sits below the resort rather than above it, and the water reads as sky. It is the single most photographed thing in the Bali highlands for a reason.
A blessing that is genuinely Balinese
The Traditional Balinese Wedding Blessing is published with its inclusions: a Balinese priest guiding the ceremony, traditional attire and offerings, photography and videography, florals, a Royal Rejuvenation spa treatment and a private candlelit dinner with a Balinese menu, plus nights in a suite or villa. This is the local rite, held in the resort's bamboo pavilion, not a Western ceremony with a gamelan bolted on.
Small on purpose
Five hectares of what was an abandoned coffee plantation when the owners started in 2007, designed by Popo Danes and Era Anastasia, with suites and villas up to a five-bedroom pool villa and no ballroom anywhere on the estate. A wedding here works when the whole group can take most of the property.

Can you get married at Munduk Moding Plantation?+
Yes. The resort runs two wedding offerings on its own site: the Mountain Magic Wedding Package and a Traditional Balinese Wedding Blessing led by a Balinese priest, with attire, offerings, florals, photography, videography, a spa treatment and a private dinner included. Neither carries a published price, so we get you a written quote for your guest count and date.
How many guests can it take?+
This is small-group country. There is no ballroom and no large lawn, and the ceremony settings are a round bamboo pavilion and a garden deck. In our experience it works best somewhere between 10 and 30 people, ideally with the group filling most of the villas. The resort confirms exact numbers per wedding.
Where exactly is it?+
In Desa Gobleg, on the ridge above Munduk village in Buleleng, north Bali. From the airport it is roughly two and a half to three hours by car up the Bedugul road, past Lake Beratan and the twin lakes. Most couples stay two or three nights rather than treating it as a day trip.
Is the pool view reliable?+
No, and we will be honest about that. These hills make their own weather and cloud can close in within minutes. Mornings are the better bet, which is why we usually schedule portraits at the pool early and hold a covered fallback for the ceremony itself.
