Munduk Heaven sits on the ridge above Munduk village in Buleleng, and its chapel is the reason couples find it. The building is a round timber and glass pavilion standing on stilts off the hillside, entered across a bridge with the forest falling away below. Glass on every side, antique lamps in the corners, and a published capacity of 50 people. The rest of the property is small on purpose: floating villas of 100 square metres, forest cabins of 45 reached by an inclinator down the slope, an infinity pool with a jacuzzi and standing bonfires, Kaki Langit Bar & Restaurant for dinner, and Mahony Spa for the morning before.
For a wedding that shape works well up to about 40 seated guests. The resort has its own team for ceremonies and receptions, and it will take gatherings and private events in the chapel too. What it does not do is publish prices, so every celebration is quoted per couple.
Munduk is around two and a half to three hours from the airport and cold enough after dark that the bonfires earn their place. We ask for a written quote against your date and guest count, and we reconfirm the current figures with the resort before you commit.

Why we love it
The chapel is the whole reason to come
It is a round timber and glass pavilion standing off the hillside on stilts, and you walk into it across a bridge with the forest dropping away underneath. Glass on every side, antique lamps hanging in the corners, and no walls between you and the ridge. Nothing else in the Bali highlands looks like it.
Fifty guests, and that number is real
The chapel holds 50 and the property itself is small: floating villas of 100 square metres and forest cabins of 45, roughly eight units in total. Above 40 people you are catering from the restaurant and bussing guests up from elsewhere, which changes the day. Below 30 it feels like the place was built for you.
Bonfires at the pool, which you will want
Munduk gets cold after dark and the resort keeps standing bonfires lit around the infinity pool. That solves the problem every highland wedding has, which is what guests do between the ceremony and dinner when the temperature drops and the mist arrives.

Can you get married at Munduk Heaven Luxury Villas?+
Yes. The resort runs its glass chapel as a wedding venue and has an in-house team for ceremonies, receptions and smaller events. It publishes no package prices, so we send your guest count and date and come back with a written quote.
How many guests fit in the chapel?+
Fifty is the published ceiling. In practice we would keep a seated ceremony nearer 40 so the aisle and the photographer both have room. Dinner then moves to Kaki Langit or the pool deck depending on the weather.
Where is it and how long is the drive?+
In Desa Munduk, in Banjar district, Buleleng, on the ridge road towards Wanagiri. From Ngurah Rai Airport it is around two and a half to three hours up through Bedugul. Nobody should do this as a day trip, so we block rooms for the couple and the closest guests.
What happens if the mist comes in?+
The chapel is glass on all sides and roofed, so the ceremony is safe either way. The view is the part that is not guaranteed. We schedule the ceremony and the portraits for the earlier part of the day, when the ridge is clearer more often than not.
