Kaba Kaba Estate
Heritage estate villa, Tabanan
Photos: Elite Havens
Kaba Kaba Estate stands on former royal land at the edge of Kaba Kaba village, in Tabanan on Bali’s southwest side and about ten minutes inland from Canggu’s beaches. It is a colonial-style heritage estate across more than three acres, with open entertaining pavilions and a pool deck framed by rice terraces and, on a clear day, a volcano on the horizon. The history of the place gives it a weight that newer villas do not have.
The estate has eight bedrooms sleeping fourteen adults and four children, so the wedding party stays on site. For the celebration the lawns and pool deck take 150 seated and 200 for cocktails, and up to around 250 with a marquee. Permanent wet-weather cover is limited, so we usually plan a tent in from the start, which also opens up the larger guest counts.
We recommend Kaba Kaba for couples who want a grand garden estate with a sense of heritage, close to Canggu but surrounded by rice fields. A villa buyout with event runs from around USD 2,778 per night, with an event fee near USD 2,310 and a banjar fee around USD 281; a five-night peak stay was quoted from about IDR 346 million inclusive of tax and service. These are estimates, and we reconfirm all figures with the villa for your date.
Key details
Why we love it
A heritage estate on royal land
Kaba Kaba sits on former royal land at the edge of Kaba Kaba village, a colonial-style estate across more than three acres. It carries a sense of history that most villa venues do not.
Rice terraces and a volcano beyond
The pool deck is framed by rice terraces with a volcano on the horizon, and the lawns run across three acres, so ceremony and reception both open onto the fields rather than a wall.
Scales up with a tent
The estate hosts 150 seated and 200 for cocktails as standard, and up to around 250 under a tented setup, which is worth arranging anyway since permanent wet-weather cover is limited.
