Villa Puri Nirwana sits right on Cucukan Beach in Ketewel, on Bali’s south-east coast, about twenty minutes past Sanur. This is a black-sand surf beach in a traditional fishing village, so the setting is quieter and more rural than the resort strips further west. The lawn runs to the sand, the 16-metre pool holds the ocean view, and the grounds cover around 4,500 square metres of gardens, coconut grove, and water features.
The villa has six king bedrooms and sleeps twelve as standard, with extra bedding available for a larger party, so the wedding group can stay together across the days around the day. It is managed by Elite Havens with full staff, and small touches like the restored 200-year-old Javanese spa joglo and the wheelchair-friendly layout, with garden ramps and an elevator, make it more considered than a plain rental.
For a wedding, the oceanfront lawn is the main event space, set up for up to 100 seated guests or 120 standing, with the poolside gardens for cocktails and dinner and the indoor living and dining rooms as a wet-weather fallback.
