Photographs give you the images. A film gives you the sound: the vows, the speech that made everyone cry, and what your grandmother’s voice sounded like that afternoon. Couples who skip it are far more likely to regret that than couples who skip anything else.

What to record

The highlight film is the one everyone asks for. The ceremony and speeches are the ones people are most grateful for years later, and they are also the cheapest to add. At a full wedding with speeches from both families, the audio alone justifies the booking.

Audio is most of the job

A wedding film lives or dies on sound. That means lapel microphones on the celebrant and on whoever is speaking, a feed from the sound desk where there is one, and a backup recorder. Wind on a beach or a clifftop will destroy an otherwise beautiful ceremony recording, so we plan the microphone setup around the location.

Filmed without a crew in your face

Small teams, discreet positions, and no directing you through your own day. The film should look like what actually happened, which means the videographer needs to be somewhere you are not thinking about them.

Working alongside the photographer

The two teams meet before the day and agree positions, or they spend the entire ceremony in each other’s shots. We brief them together, which sounds obvious and does not happen by default when they are booked separately.

If you have not chosen a photographer yet, we usually pair the two so their styles match. And whoever is playing at the reception affects the audio plan, so the entertainment booking feeds into this as well.

Couples who want to relive the day, the vows, the speeches, the sound of the waves, not just stills.

Why couples choose us

The vows in full, with the sound

Highlight films are lovely and they forget the speeches. We make sure the ceremony and toast audio is properly recorded, whatever edit you end up choosing.

Filmed without a crew in your face

Small teams, discreet positions, and no directing you through your own day. The film should look like what actually happened.

Photo and video working together

The two teams meet beforehand and agree positions. Otherwise one of them is in the other frame all evening.

Estimated cost

IDR 15,000,000 - 42,000,000
USD 900 - 2,500

Edit length and coverage hours move this most: a three-minute highlight film and a full-ceremony edit are different amounts of work. Drone, a second operator, and same-day edits are priced on top. Put a number against your own day in the price simulator.

Good to know

Common questions

Do we really need video as well as photos?+

Only you can answer that, but video catches what photos cannot: your voices in the vows, the laughter, the sound of the waves. Many couples say it is what they rewatch most.

Will the crew be intrusive?+

No. We work with videographers who stay out of the way and let the day speak, so the film feels real, not staged.

Highlight film or full coverage?+

Most couples want both, and they serve different purposes. The highlight film is three to six minutes and it is what you will actually rewatch and share. The full ceremony edit is the one you keep for the vows and the speeches, and it is the part people are most grateful for ten years later.

Is a drone allowed?+

At most venues, yes, with some real exceptions. Temples, some resorts, and anywhere near the airport flight path restrict or forbid it. We check the rules for your venue before it goes in the quote, because a drone that cannot legally fly is a line you paid for twice.

How long until we get the film?+

Typically six to twelve weeks, longer than photographs because editing and sound work take time. Some videographers offer a short same-day or next-day teaser, which is worth asking about at booking if you want something while everyone is still on the island.
